Meet The Dentists
Dr Niamh Roe Read Niamh trained at the Dublin Dental Hospital, Trinity College Dublin. Originally from Co. Meath, Niamh is known for her friendliness, kindness, patience and gentle touch when dealing with patients in pain or those who are extremely nervous. Niamh has a special interest in restorative dentistry such as fillings, crowns and root canal treatments. Further training has helped Niamh to keep up to date with all the new techniques to ensure painless, quality dentistry.
Dr Michael Koukoulis Read Michael graduated in 2003 from the University of Glasgow (Scotland). Following completion of his vocational training in the UK, Michael joined the army for a year where he worked as a Dental Officer. In 2006, Michael completed postgraduate training in Dental Implantology from the University of Warwick (UK) and since then his area of interest lies primarily with the provision of dental implant restorations. Michael has been a member of the Smiles Team from its humble beginnings and he’s proud to have seen it grown to the largest dental care provider in the country.
Dr George David Read George qualified as a Dentist in Bucharest in 2004 and has been a member of the Smiles Team since 2008. George’s passion is to promote the long-term well-being of patients and he also frequently attends postgraduate courses in Ireland, the UK and the US. George is interested in all aspects of dentistry and his greatest joy is in Endodontics, Aesthetic Dentistry and short term Orthodontics. George is a multidisciplinary part of the team and collaborates brilliantly in order to produce the best possible results for all patients.
Dr Muhammed Israr Dr Denise Bowe Dr Mary Crossling Read Since Mary qualified in 2008, she has worked in various places such as Edinburgh Scotland, Queensland Australia and spent some time working in London. While Mary was working abroad she gained lots of experience working within a Dental Hospital, Aboriginal communities and in an Oral & Facial surgery unit. Mary returned to Ireland in 2011 and joined the Smiles Team later that year. Mary’s favourite aspect of her job is working with children and teaching them about good oral hygiene.
Dr Thomas Heidari Read Tom graduated from Queens University Belfast and completed his post-graduate degree in Royal College of Surgeons London. Tom joined Smiles in 2011 and is extremely hard working, enthusiastic and team orientated dentist who has a high level of clinical standards & commitment in total patient care. Tom’s special interests include cosmetic dentistry, oral surgery and implantology. In 2010, Tom won the well-recognised Smile Makeover Award KSS Deanery and is also a registered provider of award winning “6 month Smiles” cosmetic braces system. Tom completed a Cosmetic Practical course by world-renowned specialist Paul Tipton and trained in Laser & Home whitening by Dr Wyman Chan Wy10 system. Tom in 2011 became a member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeon. For 2012, Tom hopes to be raising money and heading to Haiti to help with the Smiles outreach program in providing essential dental treatment to children and adults that are in need.
Dr Mohamed Alhag (Periodontist) Read Mohamed received his Bachelor of Dental Science in 1994. Mohamed worked for five years in a general dental practice before commencing a full time Master’s programme in Periodontology and dental implants in the Dublin Dental School and Hospital. In October 2004, Mohamed completed his Master’s programme and in 2009 he completed his PhD in the same field, in that same year Mohamed joined the Smiles team. Mohamed is also a member of the Society for the Advancement of Anesthesia in Dentistry and trained in oral and IV sedation for any nervous or anxious patients. Mohamed has worked exclusively in the field of Periodontics and dental implants for many years and he also has an additional three years of unique specialist training, which provides him with expertise in healthy teeth and gums. Mohamed’s favourite aspect of his job is helping the prevention of tooth sensitivity, bleeding gums as well as the management of receding gums and providing excellent overall oral hygiene to the patients.
Dr Ahmed Abdelsalam Dr Patrycja Nalewajska Dr Antosh Naidoo Read Antosh is originally from South Africa and qualified from Stellenbosch University in 2000. Following a year of community dentistry in South Africa, Antosh moved to London and worked in general practice for ten years; during this time she completed a two-year post-graduate course in Endodontics and still regularly attends professional development courses. Antosh loves all aspects of restorative dentistry and is committed to learning new techniques and technologies in order to provide the best care for her patients. Dr Barbara Villar Saez Read Barbara qualified from Complutense University of Madrid (U.C.M.), Spain. Barbara completed various postgraduate programmes in areas such as vocational training, basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation, prosthesis and Endodontics. Barbara has also spent time working as an associated dentist for the NGO "Odontologia Solidaria" in Madrid as well as this; she worked for another NGO "Dentists without limits" in Madagascar. Barbara joined the Smiles Team in 2009 and has since achieved certificates in Advanced Conservative Oral Surgery and postgraduate in Dental Education programme by the Royal College of Surgeons Dublin. Barbara’s favourite aspect of her job is working with patients extensively to achieve the best possible outcome for them. Barbara feels that it is imperative for her to have up to date knowledge, along with her training courses, certificates and diplomas; Barbara is studying at Master’s level in Oral Surgery, Implants and Periodontology.
