Dr Janusz Banasik is an experienced dentist with a special interest in orthodontics providing a range of orthodontic treatment.

Training and qualifications

Dr Janusz received his undergraduate qualification from the University of Lodz in Poland in 1994 with distinction. He was awarded Master of Science in Orthodontics (with merit) by the University of Warwick (UK) and went on to acquire an M.Sc. in Clinical Periodontology from UCLAN (UK). In 2023 and in recognition of Dr. Janusz’ scientific work, his research was accepted by the panel of reviewers for presentation during the Annual Congress of European Orthodontic Society.

The knowledge and experience gained from his postgraduate studies enables Dr. Janusz to treat a broad range of orthodontic patients, including children and patients with significantly reduced periodontal support (stable periodontal disease). When necessary, Dr. Janusz prepares patients with active gum disease for orthodontic treatment, and he applies his 30 years of experience to treat some of the most complex cases. Dr. Janusz is certified by Invisalign System, Incognito Lingual Braces, Insignia Braces System – Advanced Smile Design. He is also competent in applying advanced technologies and methods to achieve significant results, benefitting the patient’s individual needs.

Dr. Ebenezer Thomas (known to his patients as Ebby) qualified in 2003 at the Dr M.G.R Medical University in Chennai India. Since 2015 he has worked in different private practices around Ireland and is committed to continued education programs. Ebenezer is also a member of the Irish Dentistry Association.

Ebenezer is an experienced and attentive dentist providing a range of treatments, including general, emergency and cosmetic dentistry, oral surgery and teeth straightening to patients at Smiles Dental Dun Laoghaire since 2017. He also has a keen interest in oral surgery and endodontics.

He is also a qualified six month smiles provider and is also certified to provide full Invisalign treatment for straightening teeth.

Dr Greg Cullen is a dentist working with Smiles Dental, providing a range of treatments including prosthodontics, teeth straightening and restorative dentistry.

Dr Greg Cullen B.D.S graduated in 2005 from Queens University Belfast.

 Greg completed his vocational training year in Edinburgh, then worked for three years in Derry in general practice before spending a year in Australia bringing dentistry to the rural communities of Northern Queensland.

Greg spent the next five years working in the NHS and private practice in Manchester. Here he honed his skills in prosthodontics, achieving a Certificate in Cosmetic and Restorative Dentistry from the University of Central Lancashire before moving back to Ireland and joining Smiles Dental in 2015.

Greg has a varied interest in many fields of dentistry including short term orthodontics (six month smiles) and treating anxious patients. He hopes to advance his enthusiasm in dental implants in the coming years.

Dr. Selena Mulvey is an accomplished dentist committed to personalised patient care and clinical excellence. She began her journey in dentistry with a BSc (Honours) in Dental Technology from Cardiff Metropolitan University in 2010, before qualifying in Dentistry at Queen’s University Belfast in 2015. Following her degree, she completed a year of Foundation Training in Cornwall and undertook a year of postgraduate training in paediatric and orthodontic dentistry at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast. This training deepened her expertise in providing dental treatment to children with complex medical history.

In 2017, Dr. Mulvey joined a busy dental practice in Belfast, where her exceptional clinical judgement earned her the ‘Bupa Dentist of the Year’ award after making a life-saving diagnosis. When she relocated to Dublin in 2023, her established relationship with the Bupa network made Smiles Dental the natural choice for continuing her career.

A graduate of Queen’s University of Belfast in 2015, Dr. Mulvey brings a solid foundation in dental practice and a genuine passion for helping her patients achieve optimal oral health. Dr Olayinka Ibrahimgraduated from University College Cork in 2024 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree. He also holds a Diploma of Primary Care Dentistry (Dip PCD) and a Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery (MFDS).

Olayinka is a general dentist with Smiles Dental providing all general dental treatments, as well as crowns, veneers and root canal treatments. He has a special interest in restorative dentistry, aesthetic dentistry and prosthodontics.

Olayinka entered the dental industry because it allows him to help people while working skilfully with his hands.
