Mouth cancer has become a very important healthcare issue for Ireland. More than 400 cases of mouth cancer are detected every year nationwide. In the UK, the no. of reported cases of mouth cancer has increased faster than any other cancer in the past 25 years.

Dentists play a key role in the early detection mouth cancer by identifying those patients who are exposed to risk factors. The dentist can identify these risk factors by performing a short and painless oral exam during a patient’s visit.
