Training and qualifications

Dr Joanna Szydlowska graduated in 2002 from The Medical University of Gdansk, Poland. After working in Poland for many years, Joanna joined Smiles Dental in 2007. Joanna’s favourite aspect of being a dentist is putting her patients at ease. Joanna also has a special interest in oral surgery implantology, aesthetic and prosthetic procedures. Joanna completed a Certificate in Implant Dentistry in 2009 at Warwick University and has recently graduated with a High Profile Diploma Degree in Implantology from The University of Manchester (UK).She is fully qualified to take on implant cases. She also has a Diploma in Clinical Dentistry issued by The Dublin Dental School and Hospital (2012’).

Dr Janusz Banasik is an experienced dentist with a special interest in orthodontics providing a range of orthodontic treatment.

Training and qualifications

Dr Janusz received his undergraduate qualification from the University of Lodz in Poland in 1994 with distinction. He was awarded Master of Science in Orthodontics (with merit) by the University of Warwick (UK) and went on to acquire an M.Sc. in Clinical Periodontology from UCLAN (UK). In 2023 and in recognition of Dr. Janusz’ scientific work, his research was accepted by the panel of reviewers for presentation during the Annual Congress of European Orthodontic Society.

Treatments offered

The knowledge and experience gained from his postgraduate studies enables Dr. Janusz to treat a broad range of orthodontic patients, including children and patients with significantly reduced periodontal support (stable periodontal disease). When necessary, Dr. Janusz prepares patients with active gum disease for orthodontic treatment, and he applies his 30 years of experience to treat some of the most complex cases. Dr. Janusz is certified by Invisalign System, Incognito Lingual Braces, Insignia Braces System – Advanced Smile Design. He is also competent in applying advanced technologies and methods to achieve significant results, benefitting the patient’s individual needs.

Training and qualification

John graduated NUI with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) in 1976. He completed his Masters (MSc) in the University of London. He is a Fellow of the British Academy of Restorative Dentistry (BARD) and a Fellow of the International Academy for Dental-Facial Esthetics (IADFE).

Dr. Angelko Ashtalkoski, known by his patients as Angel, is a dedicated and experienced dentist who brings a global perspective and a strong foundation in dental care to his practice.

Training and qualifications

Originally from Macedonia, Angel began his journey in dentistry by studying dental technology from 1999 to 2003. He later earned his master’s degree in dental medicine from the Medical University Plovdiv in Bulgaria, graduating in 2009.

Dr. Angelko’s commitment to excellence is evident in his pursuit of advanced education and training. He completed a two-year course in advanced practical occlusion and restorative dentistry with esteemed professor Paul Tipton, gaining in-depth knowledge and expertise in these areas. His dedication to his craft is further demonstrated by his membership in the British Academy of Restorative Dentistry (BARD).

Since joining Smiles Dental in 2011, Dr. Angelko has made a name for himself as a skilled practitioner, particularly in aesthetic and restorative dentistry. He has a keen interest in TMJ disorders and root canal treatments, areas where his meticulous attention to detail and precision truly shine.

Dr. Angelko prides himself on his patient-centred approach, prioritising each individual’s comfort and well-being throughout their dental journey. He believes in clear communication and takes the time to understand his patients’ concerns and goals. Training and qualifications

Dr Deirdre Coghlan graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2013 and joined the Smiles Dental team in Tallaght in February 2014. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry especially helping nervous patients overcome their fear of attending the dentist.

In June 2013 she was part of a group which was awarded the annual student award by the Irish Society for Disability and Oral Health for a project in the field of special care dentistry. Dr Coghlan loves to travel and has spent time in Central America where she worked as a dental volunteer in Honduras.

Training and qualifications

Dr Ayesha graduated from de’Montmorency College of Dentistry in Punjab, Pakistan in 2006 with a BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) and FCPS Prosthodontics Fellowship or Physicians and Surgeons). She also holds MFDS RCSI (Membership of the Faculty of Dentistry with the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland.)

As well as being a general dentist, Ayesha has a special interest in Veneers, Crowns, Bonding, Trioclear Aligners (teeth straightening), Dentures and Bridges.

She really enjoys working with nervous patients, taking the time to provide dental care with a gentle and calm approach. Ayesha loves how even small dental work can transform a smile and positively effect a patients self-esteem.

Ayseha has been working in Ireland since 2020 and hopes to progress more in the fields of orthodontics and implant dentistry in the coming years.

She is a mom of two children and expresses her creative side by panting in her free time. Ayesha is fluent in Englieh, Urdu and Punjabi.

B.Dent.Sc Hons – Trinity College. Fellowship in Aesthetic Dentistry (FAD).

Training and qualifications

Dr Brona Pereppadan earned her degree in Dental Science (B.Dent.Sc Hons) from Trinity College Dublin. During her studies, she was awarded the prestigious Costello Medal by the Irish Dental Association for Best Poster Presentation. She has further developed her clinical expertise by completing a Fellowship in Aesthetic Dentistry (FAD), with a focus on minimally invasive and aesthetic treatments.

Treatments

Brona provides a full range of general dental treatments, including preventative care, restorative dentistry, root canal treatments, extractions, and paediatric dentistry. She has a particular interest in aesthetic dentistry, with a focus on composite bonding and veneers, delivering results tailored to each patient

Known for her calm and gentle manner, Brona is committed to making every patient feel comfortable and at ease. She enjoys working with children, taking time to ensure a positive and reassuring experience. She finds it especially rewarding to help nervous patients who may have neglected their oral health, rebuilding trust, restoring function, and regaining confidence in their smile. She believes that a smile is one of the most powerful things a person can wear and is passionate about helping patients feel confident in theirs.

Outside the clinic, Brona has a strong passion for dance, which has been a significant part of her life. She also enjoys singing and playing badminton.
