Dr Alaa Aljibouri
Dr Alaa Aljibouri qualified from the Dental School/ Baghdad University of Iraq in 2000. Alaa worked as a Junior House Officer and Senior House Officer for a few years in Baghdad and next, he travelled to the UK in 2005, where he completed the International Qualification Exams. Alaa joined the Smiles Dental team in 2009, first at Smiles Dental Tallaght and then settled into Smiles Dental Dundrum. Alaa enjoys all parts of general dentistry; and has a special interest in all surgical aspect procedures. He frequently carries out crown, root canal and bridge procedures. Alaa has just completed a post-graduate diploma in Clinical Dentistry from the Dublin Dental School and Hospital. He also completed a nine-month course in dental implants recently.
Dr Aidan Burke
Dr Aidan Burke is from Tipperary. He qualified from UCC in 2004 and in 2005 completed a post graduate vocational training year in Edinburgh Dental Institute. He has since worked in general dental practice in Dublin and Thurles. Aidan enjoys all areas of general dentistry.
Dr Ameerah Azeeza Fakim
Dr Ameerah Azeeza Fakim graduated from Trinity College Dublin and completed her post-graduate studies in the UK to pursue foundation training with the Northern Deanery. After working as a National Health Service Associate Dentist, Ameerah moved back to Ireland and joined Smiles Dental in 2011. Ameerah thoroughly enjoys all aspects of general dental practice with a special interest in restorative dentistry, having completed a Certificate in Restorative Dentistry with the Tipton Training Academy in Manchester. She is also a member of the MFDS Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and has completed Level 1 and Level 2 of her Six Month Smiles training, so she is a fully qualified provider of the treatment.
Dr Edwina Meade
Dr Edwina Meade graduated from Trinity College Dublin. After working in general practice in Exeter in the UK Edwina moved back to Ireland and joined Smiles Dental Dundrum in 2014. Edwina enjoys all aspect of general dentistry especially helping nervous patients overcome their fear of attending the dentist. Edwina has a special interest in restorative dentistry such as fillings, crowns and root canal treatments. Further training has helped her to keep up to date with all the new techniques to ensure painless, quality dentistry.
Dr Laura Fee
Laura qualified from Trinity College Dublin and was awarded the Costello Medal by the President of the Irish Dental Association at its annual Dental Conference in 2009. Immediately after graduation Laura worked in her sister’s dental practice in Monaghan before joining the Smiles Team in Drogheda. Laura enjoys treating patients of all ages however; in particular she enjoys treating children and anxious patients. Laura is very committed to post-graduate education and has attended many courses in Ireland to ensure that she is up to date with the most recent developments in dental techniques and materials.
Dr Louise Hagen
Dr Louise Hagen qualified as a dental surgeon in 1999 with honors in restorative dentistry and attained her specialist orthodontic qualification from King’s College London in 2008. She is hugely experienced in carrying out successful orthodontic treatments in both the UK and Australia and is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. She is also an expert at maintaining a relaxed, comfortable environment that her patients can enjoy.
Dr Philip Christie
Dr Philip Christie has over thirty years’ experience in general dentistry, periodontology and form and function. Philip has a keen interest in general wellness and prevention of disease. Philip has also written and published a very successful book about the first behavioural manual in dental care named “Something To Chew On: A Mouth Map To Health”. Philip is currently completing a Masters in Psychotherapy dealing with the patient/dentist relationship and the problems of fear and anxiety in the dental surgery. Philip also provides short-term orthodontics (Six Months Smiles) and selected implant cases. Philip provides nervous patient consultations also.
Dr Ali Afrasiabi
Dr Afrasiabi qualified in 2006 from Trinity College Dublin with a Bachelor degree in Dental Science. After graduation, he started working in private practice and has been continuously attending various courses to deliver a higher standard of dental care. He keeps up-to-date with the latest techniques, materials and clinical protocols in dentistry.
Dr Afrasiabi has completed courses in Implant dentistry, Restorative dentistry and Endodontics. He is currently studying a Masters degree in Endodontics at King’s College London. Ali travels to each of the 20 Smiles Dental practices throughout the year and is constantly reviewing methods and dental materials to ensure that our patients receive best possible dental care. He also works as a dentist in Smiles Dental Dundrum.
Dr M Shariff Naayar
Before joining Smiles Dental Dr Nayyar worked full time private practice of oral surgery in Clane General Hospital in Kildare. He also spent time working in Aut Even Hospital Kilkenny for oral surgery under general anesthesia.
He has have been appointed to the Panel of Examiners of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh for MFDS Part A, B and C and Membership in Surgical Dentistry (M Surg Dent RCSEd). Dr Naayar has been involved in the in the clinical teaching of medical and dental students of Trinity college Dublin, who visit the St James’s Hospital.
Dr Nayyar brings a wealth of expertise and experience to the Smiles Dental team.
Dr Martin Robledo
Dr Martin Robledo qualified in 2000 at the National University of Rosario, Argentina. Martin joined Smiles Dental in 2010 and his favourite part of being a dentist is establishing trust and trying to break the initial phobia related with the dental treatments. Martin loves listening to the patients and making them feel at ease, as he feels it is a great reward. Martin also enjoys all facets of general dentistry, especially oral surgery and root canal treatments.

Dr Julia Rosales-Palermo

Julia qualified from the Dental School at the University of Granada (Spain) in 2004. She completed a three year Master’s Degree in Oral Surgery and Dental Implants with honours in 2010, and a Master’s Degree in Spain with Dr. Raúl Caffesse from Michigan University in 2011.
Julia has worked exclusively in the field of Oral Surgery and Periodontics for the past seven years. Her additional training and experience allows Julia to provide you with the most up to date and advanced periodontal treatment, as well as with different oral surgical procedures. She is proud of her ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with both patients and co-workers.
Julia is committed to patient care, trying to make the experience as easy and comfortable as possible for her patients, helping and guiding them during the treatment and afterwards.
Dr Chris Ford
Dr Chris Ford BChD (Leeds) MFDS rcs (Eng) MB BCh BOA BA (Dublin)
Chris qualified from Leeds Dental Institute in 1995 and has been practising in the UK, Australia and Ireland for the past 20 years working in hospital, community and general practice posts.
After qualifying from Leeds University he completed UK vocational training and was awarded Membership of the Dental Faculty of the Royal College of Surgeons (England) in 2004. He studied Medicine at Trinity College Dublin obtaining his degree in 2008.
Chris has extensive experience in all aspects of general dentistry and has completed a postgraduate qualification in dental sedation and pain management. In Australia, he taught final year dental students from the University of Queensland and worked in a clinic treating patients with special needs. He is a member of the Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry and the Irish Society of Dental Sleep medicine.
Dr Mohamed Alhag
Dr Mohamed Alhag received his Bachelor of Dental Science in 1994. Mohamed worked for five years in a general dental practice before commencing a full time Master’s programme in Periodontology and Dental Implants in the Dublin Dental School and Hospital. In October 2004, Mohamed completed his Master’s programme and in 2009 he completed his PhD in the same field, in that same year Mohamed joined the Smiles Dental team.
Mohamed is also a member of the Society for the Advancement of Anesthesia in Dentistry and trained in oral and IV sedation for any nervous or anxious patients. Mohamed has worked exclusively in the field of periodontics and dental implants for many years and he also has an additional three years of unique specialist training, which provides him with expertise in healthy teeth and gums. Mohamed’s favourite aspect of his job is helping the prevention of tooth sensitivity, bleeding gums as well as the management of receding gums and providing excellent overall oral hygiene to the patients.
Dr Deborah O'Reilly
Dr Deborah O’Reilly graduated from Trinity College Dublin with Honours. She later joined the Smiles Dental team in 2017. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and is involved in continuing her professional development. Deborah places great importance in making her patients feel at ease and giving them a comprehensive treatment plan tailored to their individual needs. Her postgraduate endeavours have included dental research in the areas of evidence based dentistry which is awaiting publication shortly.
Dr Fernanda Mesquita
Dr Fernanda Roese Mesquita graduated from Pontificia Universidade Catolica do Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil in 2005. She later completed further education and training in Portugal, after which she was working in UK, she joined the Smiles Dental team in 2018.
Fernanda thinks that the patient’s journey is as important as the quality of the treatment. Alongside with general dentistry, she has a particular interest in cosmetic ortho, Invisalign and Six Months Smiles.
