What are dental implants?
A long-lasting, natural-looking solution for missing teeth, a dental implant is a titanium screw that’s placed into the jawbone, replacing the root of your missing tooth. Once it’s fitted, the bone surrounding the implant will fuse to the titanium, allowing it to be held firmly in place.

What is the dental implant procedure?
You will visit your Smiles Dental team for an initial consultation, which may include X -rays or 3D scans in order to assess your suitability for dental implant treatment. You’ll then discuss your bespoke treatment plan and will be provided with a comprehensive quote for your treatment.
The procedure for placing dental implants is usually performed under local anaesthetic, and other forms of sedation may be available. Two separate procedures are usually required – one involving the fitting of the metal implant and a temporary crown, and one in which the permanent crown is placed once the implant has fused to the bone.
