Bone Grafting
Sometimes implants can be difficult to fit because bone loss (resorption) has occurred. This can be because of age or disease, or because people have worn dentures long term and it makes implants problematic because there is nothing available to ‘anchor’ them to in the mouth.
In order to build up enough bone for an implant to be inserted, dentists can now perform bone grafts, and the bone can be rebuilt to a standard at which implants are possible.
