What are facial aesthetics treatments?

Want to slow common signs of ageing, boost your confidence and make you feel like yourself again?

Facial aesthetics treatments are non-invasive procedures to revitalise the skin and smooth or plump crow’s feet, fine lines and wrinkles. By subtly addressing loss of skin elasticity and volume, aesthetics treatments provide facial rejuvenation that results in a brighter, refreshed and more youthful appearance.

What facial aesthetics treatments do Smiles Dental provide?

At selected Smiles Dental clinics, patients can get dermal fillers and wrinkle relaxing treatments, both of which are non-invasive procedures designed to rejuvenate your appearance.

Dermal Fillers

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are a non-surgical cosmetic procedure designed to smooth fine lines and wrinkles, restore volume to your face and rejuvenate your appearance by plumping the skin.

  • Your clinician will inject a substance – usually hyaluronic acid – just under the skin
  • Treatment usually takes less than half an hour
  • Results are seen straight away
  • Safe and with minimal recovery time

Benefits of dermal fillers

Dermal fillers are popular with patients looking to enhance their facial features, address age-related depletion and restore symmetry to their face for a rejuvenated and refreshed appearance.

  • Restore volume to skin
  • Increase facial symmetry
  • Plump cheeks, lips and other key areas
  • Smooth fine lines and wrinkles
Wrinkle relaxing

What is wrinkle relaxing treatment?

Wrinkle relaxing is an aesthetic treatment, often used on the upper part of the face to relax wrinkles and provide a more youthful, smoother appearance.

  • Small amounts of relaxant substance is injected into the face
  • This substance blocks the signal between nerves and muscles, stopping the muscle from contracting
  • Noticeable results in one to two weeks
  • Effects of treatment usually last between three and six months

Benefits of wrinkle relaxing treatment

Wrinkle relaxing treatments reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in the face, particularly in the upper half the face where horizontal lines, crow’s feet and frown lines between the brows are common signs of ageing.

  • Reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles
  • Smoother, youthful and more even skin
  • Restore confidence in your appearance
  • Safe and with very few side effects

Facial aesthetics FAQs

The duration of your results can vary and depend on a number of individual factors and the specific treatment you’ve received. In general, wrinkle relaxing treatments last between three and four months, and dermal fillers can last from six months to two years. Regular maintenance treatments are often recommended in order to maintain your desired look.

Common side effects of dermal filler and wrinkle relaxing treatments include temporary swelling and bruising at the injection site, as well as mild redness or tenderness. These can be treated with a cold compress, and patients are advised to avoid taking blood-thinning medication (such as aspirin) before treatment to minimise bruising.

If you feel unwell or have any other side effects following your treatment, please contact a healthcare professional immediately.

With finance provided by our partner humm, you can borrow up to €30,000 and spread the cost. To find a payment plan which suits your budget, or to find out more:
